Clay pot labels using magnets

May 31, 2015: I like adding quick labels to items using magnets. But how do you use magnets with a clay pot? (Other than hot-gluing small magnets to the pot…a solution I’ve tried).

Today’s creative workaround for this dilemma is to wrap a decorative galvanized metal ribbon around the pot. I the spool of ribbon from Michaels (their Make Market line).

Here’s how I labeled the crassula succulent plant pot.

A DIY Shop tag labeled with a gold Sharpie marker (or paint pen) and attached with magnets.

I secured the metal ribbon with a binder clip. You can also use a hot glue gun to make a permanent bond.

This is a quick and easy way to to “magnetize” those clay pots for labeling. V-
