January 30, 2016: Thirty minutes after the previous post that tells the story about the project creation that never was. Until now.
Pulled the frame from out under my dresser, fired up the glue gun and went to work.
First, using own breath to heartily blow away the dust, I gently “vacuumed” out the piece.
Second, I used the glue gun to quickly glue the loose tube pieces together.
Third, I pulled out my recycled Command strips (which I have many) and hot glued a piece on each of the four sides.
Fourth, I took a Command picture hanger piece and affixed it to the wall under the floating shelf in the living room corner.
Finally, I hung the frame in its new home – next to my corner couch nook, along with my other funky wall art creations. It’s the perfect spot and it looks beautiful there. Unique, and specially made for space. I love it.
Yes, I will have to take a deep breath and vacuum it out from time to time (as Bruce warned me as I began putting it together 13 months ago, it will be a magnet for dust because the glass is no longer there (due to Command strip wall art mishap in the bathroom). This is most likely the reason behind I eventually abandoning it and sticking it under my dresser.
But I’m happy its here now, sharing it’s special beauty with our space. It’s not shiny or polished by any stretch of the imagination (in fact, it has a real ragged look to it). But there’s a real story behind this creation. It survived…and made it on our wall. It belongs there. And has earned a true VidaDIY badge of honor. V-
