New Living Room Rugs

June 2, 2015: Our living room floors looked gorgeous. But the time has come to invest in rugs.

  

I loved this round rug for the corner next to the balcony. I love the color of yellow, especially in home decor. So I quickly snapped up this rug from IKEA for that corner of the room.

  
I was, however, obsessed with finding a big 8 x 10 rug (or larger) for the rest of the living room. This was to be placed in front of the bigger sectional group of modular couch pieces. I was being especially choosy…especially with cost options.

After hours of searching Amazon and Overstock, I found what I thought I wanted from Home Depot, and placed an online order for in-store pick-up for the next day.

  
MISTAKE! It turned out to be this awful, metallic silver color that took over the entire room. Cheap, nylon fibers that shed everywhere. Could hardly see our beautiful new floors. And it stank.

Twenty minutes after rolling it out, we rolled it back up and hauled it back down to the car. Back in the trunk it went that very same night.

I took it back to Home Depot the next day after work. And once I completed the return, I immediately drove down the street back to IKEA. It did not take me long to make my selection.

  
 I absolutely love our new circle living room rugs. Perfect design accent to our space. Plush enough to give us comfy cushioning for our feet exactly where we need it. And it enhances, rather than hide, our new floors.

Besides the round shape reminds me of our time at the yurt. So this could not be more perfect. Thank you IKEA. V-
